Meeting in Paris

Thirteen of our ESR met last week (September 23 & 24, 2021) at Université Paris Cité, TrainCKDis coordinator.
Since they joined the project, our PhD students did not have the opportunity to meet in person. All our meetings had to be transferred online. This first in-person meeting was aimed at connecting our fellows together as well as creating communication content - stay tuned for more info! The mornings were dedicated to team-building exercises, the draft of articles for social media and film videos. They also had the opportunity to visit the INEM - Institut Necker Enfants Malades, the lab of Fabiola Terzi, our scientific coordinator.
Even though this meeting did not include scientific classes we are certain that this meeting is essential to create the cohesion of the group in order to lead to the success of the TrainCKDis project.

Creating Social Content
Our fellow Cesare filming Suraj interview's under the supervision of Alexandru. By filming these interview, we wanted to umanize the project and enable the public to get to know our amazing students. This was not an easy exercise: talking in front of a camera is not everyone cup of tea but everybody took it seriously.

Movie making project
One of the deliverables we have to submit to the European Commission is a film presenting the project. The first step - one of the objectives of this meeting - is to write a script. To do this, we had to decide on the type of video we wanted to create, i.e. an animated video, an animated power-point or a film. We worked in small groups before putting our ideas together.

Team building activities
The rest of the days was dedicated to activities aiming at bringing the fellows closer. The ESR also took a cooking class at Le Cordon Bleu: the preciseness necessary to bake macaron will certainly be useful for their future experiments!

Team building activities
In the evening, our ESR discovered Paris in a non-usual way: Thanks to Université de Paris Culture Service, they discovered the street art in the 13ème Arrondissement. This was very intersting as Université de Paris has several building in the part of the town.
