  • TrainCKDis enters its fourth year. Thanks to the 6-month extension the European Commission granted us, the consortium will continue to work together until June 2024.

2023 gets off with a flying start: our ESRs are persuing their mobility and implement their secondment to other members of the consortium or to beneficary. Secondments are specific to Marie Sklodovska Curie Actions including Innovative Training Networks such as TrainCKDis.

    • Secondments

A Secondment in Innovative Training Networks is mobility of the Early Stage Researcher to another member of the consortium (beneficary or partner organisation). It is an integral part of their research and training project. During their secondment, researchers receive supervision and training from a Principal Investigator in the host institution. During this period the researcher experiences her or his researcher under a new perspective. Inter-sectoral secondment are highly recommended. In TrainCKDis training programme, we did our best to organise the secondments from academic to non-academic sectors or the other way around.

  • Events

Besides these individual mobilities, we are planning to event at the consortium level:

    • A workshop at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin in May
    • A Summer School at Mario Negri, Bergamo
  • Workshop at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin

This workshop will focus on Complications of CKD from a research, clinicians and patients perspective. It will be hosted by Charité in May 15th and 16th, 2023.

Our training program initialy scheduled short visits in clinics. However the pandemic changed our plans. Even though we know that the main outbreaks of the COVID-19 is behind us and vaccines are available, we can not ignore the several variants and fill not confortable putting already weak patients in contact with our students. This is why we decided to organise this event gathering different perspectives of people working and living with CKD. Tess Harris, CEO of the PKD Charity and partner of our consortium will host a talk and a round table.

Besides these scientific sessions, the students will also have a transferable skills training on scientific writing.

  • Berlin
  • Summer School on Transferable Skills in pharmaceutical medicine

After hosting a workshop in November 2023, Mario Negri will once again welcome the Early Stage Researchers, but this time for a whole week. This summer school will be open to scientific outside of the consortium. We will soon publish the inscription process.
